Who I Am
I'm Kiran V.K., an Assistant Professor at NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad . I've been teaching Computer Science for 11+ years, and honestly, I'm still learning something new every day. That's what keeps it fun.
What Drives Me
I love exploring cutting-edge tech—whether it's blockchain, custom GPTs, AR/VR, or whatever's next. I've dipped into pretty much everything relevant in my domain, not because I have to, but because I'm genuinely curious. Then I bring that back to the classroom and see if students find it as cool as I do.
Education
- ME in Software Engineering - PSG College of Technology (2011-2013) | Best All-Rounder Award
- BTech in Computer Engineering - NSS College of Engineering (2007-2011)
Some Recognition
- IEEE Computing's Top 30 Early Career Professional (2024) - Pretty cool to be recognized internationally
- Perplexity Business Fellow (2025) - Helping make AI tools accessible to students
- Best All-Rounder - ME Software Engineering, PSG College (2012-13)
What I Do
I teach subjects like Blockchain, Web Services, Software Testing, Compiler Design, and Web Programming. But beyond teaching, I build stuff—custom GPT tools for students, blockchain projects, AR experiences. I also help students with placements (coordinated 219 offers so far), mentor hackathon teams, and occasionally organize events like GitHober.
Student Impact
The best part of my job? Seeing students succeed. Whether it's getting placed at IBM or SAP Labs, winning hackathons, or just finally understanding how a compiler works—that's what makes it worth it. I've built AI tools that 1,000+ students now use for exam prep, and mentored teams that landed internships at top companies.
Tech I've Explored
- Blockchain & Web3: Smart contracts, NFT projects, metaverse experiences
- AI & Custom GPTs: Built educational tools, exam assistants, career guidance bots
- AR/VR: Created AR art galleries, lab equipment visualizations
- Open Source: GitHub Campus Program, Hacktoberfest events
Current Roles
- Assistant Professor - Computer Science & Engineering, NSSCE (2014-Present)
- Chairman - APJKTU Centralized Valuation Camp (2023-Present)
- Board Member - University of Calicut, Computer Engineering & IT (2023-Present)
- Faculty Advisor - IEEE Computer Society Chapter (2025-Present)
- Nodal Officer - DTE-Infosys Springboard Initiative (2023-Present)
My Teaching Philosophy
Keep it real, keep it hands-on, and make it relevant. I don't believe in just lecturing from slides. If we're learning blockchain, we're deploying smart contracts. If we're talking about AI, we're building something with it. Students learn best when they're actually doing stuff, not just memorizing theory.
Let's Connect
Whether you're a student looking for guidance, someone interested in collaboration, or just want to chat about tech—feel free to reach out. I'm always up for interesting conversations.
